Tools that can help you create a great headline

A headline can make or break a blog post or a release and I think we have all been there where we have been stuck on what should the headline be…
Today I thought I would share a quick post with you on some tools we use at Media Connections and ThoughtSpot PR when creating headline for releases and blog posts.

Portent’s Content Generator:

I love Portent’s content idea generator pop in your key words and it comes up with headline suggestions for you.
As well as helpful it can also be fun so be prepared to have a giggle when playing with your next headline idea when using portent.

Hubspot’s Topic Generator:

Fill in the fields with terms (preferably nouns) that you’d like to write about, and they come up with a week’s worth of relevant blog post titles in a matter of seconds! How cool is that.
It is not always perfect but it gets the ideas flowing!

Headline Analyzer by CoSchedule:

Is free blog post headline analyzer will score your overall headline quality and rate its ability to result in social shares, increased traffic, and SEO value. It works well for both blogs and releases too.

The Emotional Headline Analyzer:

Emotion has a lot to do with why people click on a headline in the first place. There is no point in making your headline SEO friendly if no one will click. So once you have your headline run it through this handy tool.

There you have it some of my favourite tools to use when creating a headline, so what one will you use?

Fantastic resources Linda! I particularly liked the headline analysers – they sound useful for checking the title before publishing a post. 🙂
Two eBooks that I use all the time for headline ideas are:
    – “How to Write Magnetic Headlines” from Copyblogger: http://www.copyblogger.com/magnetic-headlines/
    – “Headline Hacks” by Jon Morrow: https://smartblogger.com/headline-hacks/
I find these books really useful when it comes to brainstorming headlines.
